Career traits: Immense under brakes and not as prone to petulant mistakes as Maldonado.
With both Sauber drivers being late brakers, the setup of the car on both sides of the garage will be focussed on stability under braking. This should help Perez shine amongst the other rookies. The battle between Perez and Kobayashi will also be interesting to watch, as the last time they competed against one another was in 2009 in GP2 where Perez finished the year with 22 points and in 12th position, while Kobayashi finished with 13 points in 16th position. Kobayashi starts 2011 with a full year plus 2 races of F1 experience over Perez, but expect to see Perez taking to the Japanese driver by mid-season.
Perez is likely to show his worth as a driver during 2011, and not merely a sponsor delivery mechanism that so many others have suggested. I predict that by the end of the year a number of other teams will be trying to tempt him away from Sauber for both his driving talents and his Telmex sponsorship.
